Corsica Citadella

This has been on my sister's list of places to go for what seems a lifetime but due to middle of the week flights was only achievable for me during the long summer holiday. Let's face it I am often very booked up at that time but finally fitted it in.

#easyjet flight to the small but perfectly acceptable Calvi airport was ideal, just a note to you shoppers out there, there is refreshingly only a bookshop and small cafe, so nothing to purchase for the way home. Lack of public transport was no issue as the taxi ride is only about 15 minutes and the company was really great #Mariani, or something similar!

Our accommodation was walking distance to the small town and white sandy beach. Beautiful view from our balcony of the Citadel, the pool and the crystal blue cove. #HotelRevellataandspa was a great find and would consider a return visit. The best part was the snorkelling at a nearby secluded cove which was often empty and thankfully had some shade. Did I mention that it was constant wall to wall sunshine? Loved the little train that leisurely meandered along a single coastal track. Could have explored a lot more with car but was more happy to plunge into the cooling med. Only downside was strangely shallow water, although the locals seemed to have created a new sport of water strolling, and a few pesky jellyfish one day on our secluded beach. A definite thumbs up to Calvi.
