Finally, aged 57 I have realised the advantages of a full shoe when travelling. To be honest before a trip to the Canadian Rockies last summer I had not really contemplated my footwear choices with such rigour! Back in the 20th Century I remember comedy sketches about a certain brand of comfy sandals for those of an advanced age, but I never thought that I would need to be instructed on the safety of my footwear. I have to admit that I will never holiday again without a full shoe just in case I am required to walk on a freezing glacier. Flipflops would just not crack it, excuse the pun. I feel that it is a life lesson and therefore I have renamed my blog as a gentle reminder to us all.
Now I am ready to tackle any tour and write about my travels.
