Great long weekend in Spain. Arrived in sun and thankfully went immediately to the beach. A beautiful expanse of golden sand liberally scattered with bronzing bathers, until the tide quickly crept in meaning that everyone gradually ended up avoiding the waves by sharing the same space. I tried to swim and I have to admit it was chillier than expected and definitely shallower than expected.
Great walk along the prom to get my well earnt icecream with the added bonus of a short climb up to the Miramar Palace.
Unfortunately, the following day the heavens opened so I would like to question whether the rain in Spain is on the plain or actually nearer to the mountainous regions! Either way it did not dampen our spirits as we still had the trusty hop on hop off bus, my favourite mode of holiday travel.
Thoroughly enjoyed Donastia, San Sebastián. Not making too many plans needing public transport and keeping expectations low is definitely the way to go. I will keep that in mind for next weekend's trip to Majorca.
